I’m a traveler too
And every day I travel miles
Longing to reach my destination someday
I trudge along
Sometimes with tears and sometimes with a smile
I have a sole friend
Always guiding me
Just that he is way too far
He is Polaris the star
And every time pain adds to my woes
I look up with the comfort that at least someone knows.
I walk alone
Sometimes one joins me
We walk a few miles together
Walking through moments, memories, nights and days
Eventually reaching a crossroad
Where we part our ways
And soon everything becomes the past
Yet again I face the fact
That nothing good shall ever last
Only I know the yearning I hide inside
To share my journey with someone
Who would walk with me all my life
I wait for that companion every breath
To find her I constantly strive
Alas that hope yet again fades away
As true love yet again evades my way
One day I shall win
Find my own place, my own people
Away from all this chaos and all this din
Where love and joy shall soar
Where I won’t be alone anymore
Until then I walk alone
Leaving my marks along the path
For another lonely traveler
So he walks with this in his heart
“Walk on and though you have to go far
You’ll win in the end, I know
Because I was, where you are!”
